This Privacy Policy explains how XML To Text (“the App”) handles information when you use the application. Please read it carefully. By using the App, you acknowledge this policy.
1. Who we are
XML To Text is a mobile utility that helps users open XML files and view extracted text content. The App does not require registration, login, or an account.
2. What the App does
The App lets you:
- Select an XML file from your device using the Android system file picker
- Read and parse that file locally
- Display extracted text and, if you choose, the original XML source
- Copy or share the resulting text using Android system features
3. XML file handling
When you choose a file, the App accesses only that selected document through Android Storage Access Framework. XML processing—including reading, parsing, and text extraction—is performed on your device.
The App does not upload your XML files to a remote server for the purpose of converting XML to text.
4. File access permissions
The App is designed to avoid broad storage access. It does not need access to your entire gallery, contacts, camera, microphone, location, SMS, or phone call logs for its core feature.
Access is limited to files you explicitly select.
5. Internet requirement
An active internet connection—Wi-Fi or mobile data—is required to use XML To Text. If the device is offline, the App will show a message asking you to turn on internet access. Normal app usage is not available while offline.
6. Advertising — Google AdMob
The App uses Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) for monetization. The only ad formats used are:
- App Open ads
- Interstitial ads
The App does not use banner ads, native ads, or rewarded ads.
Google AdMob and related Google advertising services may collect or process information such as:
- Advertising ID or device identifiers, as permitted by the platform
- IP address and approximate network information
- Device and app information
- Ad interaction and performance data
This means advertising-related data may be processed by Google. The App does not claim that “no data is collected at all.” Advertising data handling follows Google policies and your device privacy settings.
7. Third-party services
Advertising and measurement may involve Google services. Those services have their own privacy policies and terms. You should review Google advertising and privacy information for more details about how advertising-related data is used.
8. Local preferences
The App may store simple local preferences on your device, such as your selected Light or Dark theme. These preferences stay on your device and are used only to improve your experience.
9. Data we do not collect through accounts
The App does not provide user accounts, profiles, chat, or cloud synchronization of your XML files. There is no in-app email contact form, and you are not required to submit personal contact details to use the App’s core XML features.
10. Children’s privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age required by applicable children’s privacy laws. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through an account system.
Parents and guardians should supervise device and advertising settings as appropriate.
11. Security
Reasonable technical measures are used for local file processing, including secure XML parsing configuration intended to reduce unsafe external entity resolution risks.
However, no method of electronic processing is 100% secure. You should only open files from sources you trust.
12. Your choices and controls
You can:
- Control network access through Wi-Fi or mobile data settings
- Limit or reset advertising identifiers in your device settings, where available
- Stop using the App at any time
- Change theme preferences inside the App
13. User responsibility and acceptable use
You are responsible for the files you open and for ensuring that you have the right to view and process them.
Do not use the App for unlawful activities or to process content that you are not authorized to access.
14. Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect product, legal, or advertising-related changes. The latest version will be available inside the App.
Continued use after an update means you should review the updated policy.
