This Privacy Policy explains how the URL Shortener app (“the App”) handles information.
1. Overview
The App helps you create shorter links from long URLs and optionally look up original URLs when supported by the configured third-party service. No account or registration is required.
2. URL input processing
When you submit a URL, the App sends that URL to a third-party URL shortening service so a short link can be created or expanded. The App does not operate a private developer backend server for shortening.
3. Third-party URL shortening API
Shortening and expansion requests are processed by the configured external provider (currently is.gd). That provider may receive the URL you submit, technical request metadata (such as IP address), and may apply its own terms and privacy practices. Rate limits or availability may apply.
4. Internet / network usage
An active internet connection is required. The App checks connectivity before requests and cannot shorten or expand URLs offline.
5. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The App displays Google AdMob App Open and Interstitial ads. Google and its partners may collect and process device and advertising identifiers, IP address, and similar data to deliver and measure ads according to Google’s policies and privacy documentation. Ads are not required for core shortening to work; if an ad fails to load, the App continues normally.
6. Local URL history
If you shorten a URL, the App may store the original URL, short URL, and timestamp in a local database on your device only. History is not uploaded to a developer-controlled server. You can delete individual items or clear all history in the App.
7. No account / limited personal data
The App does not provide login, registration, passwords, phone numbers, contacts, camera, microphone, or location features.
8. Data we do not collect on our own servers
Because there is no private developer server for this App’s core features, URL history and preferences stay on your device. Third-party services (URL API and AdMob) process data under their own policies when you use those features.
9. Children’s privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the applicable age in your region). Do not use the App to submit personal information about children.
10. Your choices
You can clear local history, change theme preferences, limit ad personalization through your device/Google settings where available, and uninstall the App at any time.
