Recorder Screen Video (“the app”) is a standalone screen recording utility. This policy explains how the app uses device capabilities, what information may be processed, and the choices you have. Please read it together with the in-app settings.
Screen recording permission
The app records your screen only after you explicitly approve Android’s official screen-capture prompt. Capture uses the MediaProjection API. The app does not start recording in the background, does not use Accessibility services for capture, and does not bypass Android screen-capture restrictions. If another app or the system marks content as secure, Android may show a black screen or block capture. The app respects that behavior.
MediaProjection usage
Each new recording session requests user consent where Android requires it. An old capture session is not reused incorrectly. While recording is active, a foreground service with a visible notification runs so you can see that capture is in progress and stop it from the notification.
Microphone permission
Microphone access is requested only when you enable microphone recording or another audio option that Android requires microphone permission to capture. If you deny microphone permission, you can still record the screen without microphone audio.
Camera permission
Camera access is used only for the optional facecam overlay. It is requested only when you turn Facecam on. The camera preview is shown as a floating window you can drag or close. Closing Facecam stops the camera immediately. The app does not record, upload, or analyze camera frames except as part of the screen recording you start yourself. If you deny camera permission, screen recording still works without Facecam.
Display over other apps
This permission is used only for optional recording tools: Pause/Stop controls, Facecam, and brush. Those windows are small and do not block the rest of the screen. Brush is full-screen only while you are drawing, and you can close it with Done.
Audio capture limitations
Device or internal audio capture is available only on Android versions and devices that officially support AudioPlaybackCapture. Other apps can prevent their playback from being captured. The app does not attempt to override those protections. If internal audio is unavailable, the app explains the limitation and continues without crashing.
Locally saved recordings
Recordings are saved on your device, typically under Movies/Screen Recordings or the system media library. Files stay under your control. The app does not upload recordings to a server and does not share them unless you choose Share.
Advertising through Google AdMob
The app uses Google AdMob only. It may show an App Open ad after a fresh app launch, once Home is visible. App Open ads are not shown when you minimize the app and return, or when you move between Home, Recordings, and Settings. An Interstitial ad may appear after a screen recording has been saved, when the result is shown. Ads are not shown when you tap footer buttons, during recording, or during permission dialogs. After any ad is shown, the app waits at least 15 seconds before requesting another ad. If an ad fails to load, the app continues to work.
Internet and network requirement
An internet connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data) is required to use the app. Connectivity is used for advertising, Google Play services, and normal app operation. The app checks connectivity and may prompt you to enable Wi-Fi or mobile data.
Information handling
The app stores recording preferences (such as resolution, frame rate, audio source, and theme) locally with SharedPreferences. Recording files and media metadata are stored on-device through Android storage APIs. Google AdMob and related Google services may collect advertising identifiers, approximate location derived from IP address, device and app information, and interaction data according to Google’s policies. The app does not operate its own user account system and does not collect names, emails, or contacts.
User control
You can deny microphone or notification permission, choose No Audio, delete or share recordings yourself, and change theme or quality settings. You can stop recording at any time from the app or the recording notification. You can reset advertising preferences through your device Google settings.
Third-party services
Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads SDK may process data as independent controllers or processors under Google’s Privacy Policy and advertising terms. The app also relies on the Android operating system, MediaStore, and Google Play for distribution and updates.
Children and general user privacy
The app is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children. Do not use the app to capture other people without a lawful basis and their knowledge where required. You are responsible for how you use recordings.
Data security
Recordings remain on the device unless you share them. The app uses Android’s official capture, storage, and foreground-service mechanisms. No method of electronic storage is completely secure, and you should protect your device with a screen lock.
